Rainstick Cowbell
(http://rainstickcowbell.com/)

In apertura Tsuna.

Fell Like

The new (and last since the band doesn't exist anymore ) album
of the underground post rock/doom/apocaliptic folk
FOG IN THE SHELL
is finally out!

9 songs, some are new, some are alternative versions of old songs, some are remixes, FEEL LIKE is a trip to the dark deserted cities of the heart where the fog never vanishes and the sun never rises.
The key elements of the band are all there but twisted and warped into new mutant shapes, from lo-fi to indie-tronika from acoustic sadness to high voltage electric disperation, the FOG IN THE SHELL like you heard them and like you never will!

Only aviable in hand made limited edition writing to

Terra Desolata, No P.R., Cd-R!

A suggestion for a new way to produce and distribute music.

The Majors and big music corporation are killing music, because they only think about profit.
Indie labels are supposed to be against Majors, but most of the time to survive in the market they release too much  low quality albums and act like Majors, so underground music is dying!
Here is my suggestion about what we can do to help GOOD MUSIC to remain alive and kickin.
Out there is plenty little and very little indie labels that are too small to fight those big monsters alone but that select good bands and produce and sell records to people still interested in good music.
Their biggest problem is that even though they produce great bands they don't have the means to promote the bands as they deserve.
So this is the basic idea:
what if we create a neural net between like minded labels and share the work among us?
A label selects and produces a band with its limited means in Berlin, then the owner of another label in Taipei listen to the record of that band and says "great" and decide to print ( in a totally different edition ) and distribute that very record in the Taipei area, the same happens with, say, other 15 local labels around the world, the record is distributed worldwide and the band plays shows worldwide without having an official distribution and a Major pushing the record on the market but with just if every label does its little job in its little area, like they usually do.
The income of the labels would be the selling of the records, the income of the band would be the gigs.
This will also create a new market because collectors will buy more than one edition of an album.
Like that the best albums would be best sellers because they will pass through many selections by people who love music and not money.
There will not be overproduction because the labels would print only the average number of copies that usually sell of records they really believe in.
This means more quality, less quantity, also because so a label is stimulated to be more selective and to produce a minor quantity of releases.
But how will the labels be connected?
There could be a site where all the labels exchange news about the new releases and the where the songs (preferably under Creative Commons so any label, after contacting the band, can easily print and promote the record ) are stored and shared and where the labels are able to collaborate, like, for example, to join the forces to pay the vinyl print of an album.
This way promoting the best local bands means promoting them and bringing work to local manufacturers on a world scale without exploiting the bands.
I would like people who really love music to think about that, for the moment these are just words, but I believe that this could be the way to go to help the good music:
- neural connection and collaboration between little labels
- more quality, less quantity
nothing more.
